Our research aims to characterize adult hypothalamic neurogenesis elicited in response to different stimuli, to explore the regulatory mechanisms involved and to understand its role in the physiological functions controlled by the hypothalamus, more specifically in reproduction.

Our scientific objectives address several issues:
• Acquire fundamental knowledge to describe, assess and understand the role of a subtype of hypothalamic plasticity, namely neurogenesis, in relation with the neuroendocrine networks and evaluate the impact of environmental changes (photoperiod, exposure to xenobiotics ...) on these processes.
• Provide answers to societal questions by assessing the impact of the endocrine disruptors’ exposure on neuroendocrine networks and by exploring the mechanisms involved.
• Develop translational applications in neuroimaging for the exploration of cellular plasticity in animals and humans.
• Identify levers to limit the use of hormonal treatments to control reproduction in seasonal species as part of the development of innovative approaches for sustainable livestock systems.
