Julie Lemarchand

Assistant engineer

My first mission is to develop tools/methods to characterize the behavior and components of the mental universe (i.e. cognition) of animals. My 2nd mission, fully linked to the 1st, consists in deciphering the neurobiological circuits involved in these mental processes. The specificity of our team is to study farmed animal species. I lead projects both in experimental conditions and in the field. This work feeds current thinking around ethics, the status of animals, an important theme within research institutes that conduct experiments in animal biology, and in this context I am the deputy to the president of the ethics committee of the Val de Loire region (CEEA n °19).
