Mariannne Vidament

research engineer IFCE

Marianne’s work has included developing tools for assessing the temperament of equids (http://www.haras-nationaux.fr/information/accueil-equipaedia/comportement-ethologie-bien-etre/appreciation-du-comportement-et-du-temperament.html). The resulting simplified measures are now used by the SFET (French Society of Working Equids – grouping the breeding associations of the 24 French breeds of draught and regional horses, donkeys and mules) on one year old animals. Marianne is responsible for extensively disseminating knowledge about the behaviour of equids to the broader public - particularly through the IFCE – the French Horse and Riding Institute (for example, internet tools: Equipedia, and web conferences: Equivod on YouTube) Another field of her work involves equine assisted therapies and activities: she was responsible for the co-ordination of a book about scientific knowledge on these subjects (see reference below); she has collaborated in a scientific program of conferences organized by the IFCE on these subjects (Equimeetings médiation 2018 and 2020); she has been involved in the follow up of technico-economic studies about supply and demand in service activities in these areas instigated by the IFCE (2017-2021), evaluating morphology, gait and temperament of horses dedicated to motor rehabilitation (2019).
