Adipokines

Hormones produced by adipose tissue

The identification and role of proteins secreted by adipose tissue that regulate gonadal function

We are interested in the roles of hormones produced and secreted by adipose tissue called adipokines on the reproductive axis focusing mainly on the gonads (ovary and testis). We study these hormones in different species (chicken, turkey, duck, mouse, human), as well as under different physiological conditions such as obesity / overweight which is a factor of fertility decline.
We look at the deregulation of these hormones in the gonads during exposure by endocrine disruptors recognized as obesogens. The pituitary and hypothalamus are discussed in collaboration with other researchers (see collaborations).
