EFNO - Forest Ecosystems

Through its research, the EFNO Unit intends to contribute significantly to a better understanding of the functioning of lowland forest ecosystems and their capacity to adapt to management practices, increasing ungulate populations and climate change, in order to propose management methods best suited to local situations.

The unit's researchers, engineers and technicians are advancing knowledge on the functioning of forest ecosystems and the principles of sustainable forest management, in the spirit of the National Biodiversity Strategy and the Millennium Ecosystems Assessment. Their work leads to theoretical models and scientific publications, but is also geared towards application and support for public decision-makers and forest managers.
